Back in Sydney, claustrophobic. Everything feels too close, too loud, too much. Mini holiday is over, back to reality, truly. Time to consult the list, I believe.

Staying with my Grandparents is fun, singing, bickering, loud music and teevee, and beautiful orchids grown by my very talented Nan. These are just a selection that are in bloom right now, brought inside to enjoy.

A lovely lunch with old friends, blue sky and a trip back to the city on a boat. Brisbane isn’t all bad, and it does have the best invention ever - busways. A whole road, just for busses - Sydney, did you hear that?

In May 2009 there was a huge storm, flooded Lismore and wreaked havoc in the area. There is still much to clean up on the farm, trees were ripped out by their roots, smashing other trees luckily missing buildings, cars and people. A huge tree came down, narrowly missing the house, knocking down the washing line instead. All these months later some of it is still waiting to be carted away.
This tree imposed on our view, I saw it every day that I lived in here, from the kitchen as I did the washing up, or as I dangled my legs off the back verandah. My netball ring was a neighbour, also taken down in the storm. These photos are pretty average, but storm damage is so difficult to capture.

What is left of the tree, see WWOOFer Hendrik far left for size (he is pretty tall, too).

Rainbow Region Organic Markets, Tuesday morning - an early start. Russell provided much needed Dosa energy, then Sri (an ex-cameraman turned baker) grabbed my camera. Did I mention it was early? Don’t let the sunshine fool you, it was cold, too.
