Malacca local, chinatown
February 4th, 2009
We staying in Chinatown in Malacca. The narrow one-way streets offer little respite from the shade, or the traffic so this area is not an ideal daytime destination. But as the sun sets, the heat dissipates and the streest come to life.

I dont know if the lanterns are always here or just special for Chinese New Year, but they do make it feel mighty festive. Felix paused to take photos of the cool street art (in Malaysia! Street art!) and I pondered about leaving Malacca, how it has only started to show us it’s gems, forcing me to search harder.

But soon we will leave Malacca, say goodbye to Malaysia, but not for the last time. I have really enjoyed Malaysia, and I’m ready for the return visit, already.
